Eastern Saaremaa Tour

Eastern Saaremaa Tour – perfect for nature lovers

Discover the quieter side of Saaremaa on a journey through charming villages, medieval ruins, and beautiful nature. This relaxed 4–5 hour tour is perfect for travellers who enjoy scenic landscapes and authentic island stories.

Highlights of Your Adventure:

Ö Monument & the famous stadium oak
After the ferry crossing, we travel through Muhu Island and across the causeway to Saaremaa. Along the way we pass the playful Ö Monument and the famous Orissaare stadium oak tree, voted European Tree of the Year in 2015.

Maasi Ruins
Our first stop is the atmospheric ruins of Maasi Stronghold. Walking among these medieval walls offers a glimpse into Saaremaa’s dramatic past.

Ancient Cult Stone
Just a few minutes’ drive away lies a fascinating ancient cult stone marked with mysterious cup holes — a rare reminder of beliefs and rituals once practiced on the island.

Pöide Church
Next, we visit St. Mary’s Church in Pöide — one of Estonia’s oldest stone churches, combining Romanesque and Gothic architecture and carrying centuries of island history.

Bog Walk
Nature lovers will enjoy a peaceful walk in Koigi Bog. A wooden boardwalk circles a quiet bog lake, and a 9-metre viewing tower offers beautiful views over the landscape. In summer you may even take a refreshing swim, while autumn often brings berries along the path.

After the walk, we stop for a meal at the cosy Tornimäe Dairy Café before returning to the ferry port or your accommodation.

A perfect mix of Saaremaa’s nature, history, and authentic island atmosphere.
