Eastern Saaremaa Tour

Eastern Saaremaa Tour – perfect for nature lovers

After the ferry crossing, we travel through Muhu Island and across the causeway to Saaremaa, passing the playful Ö Monument and the famous Orissaare stadium oak — voted European Tree of the Year in 2015.

Our first stop is the atmospheric Maasi Stronghold ruins, where a walk among medieval walls offers a glimpse into Saaremaa’s dramatic past. Nearby, we visit a fascinating ancient cult stone marked with mysterious cup holes — a rare reminder of ancient beliefs.

Next, we explore St. Mary’s Church in Pöide, one of Estonia’s oldest stone churches, known for its striking blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

We then head into the peaceful Koigi Bog, where a wooden boardwalk leads us through this unique landscape of open water, mosses, and quiet beauty. Nature lovers will enjoy the calm surroundings, birdsong, and wide views from the observation tower. After our bog walk, it’s time to head back to the ferry or to the group’s accommodation.

Extra options

For those seeking something truly unforgettable, the experience can be elevated with a private bog concert in the heart of the landscape. As you stand surrounded by silence and birdsong, an acclaimed Estonian opera singer performs just for your group, their voice carrying across the open bog — powerful, pure, and deeply moving. It is a rare and intimate moment where nature becomes the concert hall, creating a memory that stays with you long after the journey ends.

After the walk, you may also choose to add a meal at the cosy Tornimäe Dairy Café, a well-loved local spot known for its delicious homemade dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere.
