Hi, I’m Kaja, and happy to be your guide on Saaremaa — as long as you booked the English tour, because my other language skills… well, let’s not talk about those!

I hold a diploma from the Estonian School of Hotel & Tourism Management and an official guide licence from the Estonian Guide Association, earned after completing a two-year Cultural Guide programme at the Kuressaare Regional Training Centre.

My background: I’ve guided cruise-ship guests in our capital, Tallinn, for many seasons, travelled across Europe, lived on the US East Coast through a youth cultural exchange programme, and even worked on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. All of this was incredible preparation for welcoming guests from every corner of the world.

But no matter how far I travelled, my heart always stayed in Saaremaa, where my roots go back generations. Growing up in a family of history buffs, sharing our island’s unique stories, humor, and charm comes naturally to me. If you’re looking for a tour that feels less like a lecture and more like a walk with a local friend, I’m your guide.
