Eastern Saaremaa- A Tour for Nature Lovers

Join us for an unforgettable 4–5 hour adventure through the enchanting landscapes and rich heritage of Eastern Saaremaa. Whether you’re arriving by ferry at Kuivastu or starting from elsewhere on the island, this tour offers the perfect blend of culture, nature, and history.

🛳️ From Muhu to Saaremaa
Your journey begins as we depart from Kuivastu port on Muhu Island and cross the scenic causeway into Saaremaa. We’ll stop for photos and pass the quirky Ö Monument, marking the shift in pronunciation from Õ to Ö in the local dialect.

🌳 Orissaare Stadium Oak
Our first stop is the legendary Orissaare oak, a 150-year-old tree growing in the middle of a football stadium. Voted European Tree of the Year 2015, it’s a unique symbol of nature’s quiet strength.

🏰 Maasi Fortress Ruins
We continue to the Maasilinna Castle ruins, once a 14th-century Livonian Order stronghold. Despite its turbulent past, the remaining stone walls still offer an atmospheric glimpse into medieval life and beautiful countryside views.

Pöide St. Mary’s Church
Next, we visit Pöide Church, a massive Romanesque-Gothic building dating back to the 13th century. Its fortress-like structure reflects its dual role as both a place of worship and a defensive stronghold.

🍃 Koigi Bog Walk & Observation Tower
Saaremaa’s eastern landscape is dotted with tranquil bogs, and this tour allows you to truly connect with this wild side of the island. We’ll embark on a roughly 5-kilometer walk through serene bog terrain, culminating at a 9-meter-high observation tower (if accessible) that provides sweeping panoramic views of the bog and surrounding forest.
In summer, the water near the bog can even invite a refreshing dip, while in autumn, the trail bursts with wild berries — a peaceful and sensory experience.

🥗 Lunch at Tornimäe & Tornimäe Church
After soaking in history and nature, we’ll treat you to a relaxing lunch at Tornimäe Dairy Café, situated next to the charming Tornimäe Church. This cozy spot offers local flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere — the perfect moment to rest, chat, and reflect on your day.

🚪 Return & Farewell
As the tour concludes, we’ll bring you back to your ferry point or accommodation, leaving you with lasting memories of Eastern Saaremaa’s beauty and stories.
