Explore the Sõrve Peninsula
Join us on a journey to the southern tip of Saaremaa, where coastal nature meets powerful history. The Sõrve Peninsula is a quiet and atmospheric place, shaped by the sea, wind, and dramatic events of the past.
First, we pass Tehumardi, home to the Night Battle Monument marking one of the fiercest World War II battles on the island. Then we travel even further back in time to a Viking burial site, where rare ship burials were discovered just over 15 years ago.
Heading south, we pass Mõntu Port, linked to the tragic evacuation of islanders in 1944, and visit a former Cold War missile hangar, offering a glimpse into Soviet military history.
A highlight of the tour is the Sõrve Lighthouse. Climb to the top and enjoy stunning views where the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga meet. Have you ever seen waves crossing from two different directions at once? On clear days, you can even see Latvia.
We also stop at Ohessaare, known for its coastal rock formations, and pass WWII anti-tank concrete pyramids — silent reminders of Sõrve’s strategic past.
After a day of beautiful views, stories, and local insight, we return to Kuressaare with memories that last long after the tour ends.
